Thanks

Anyone want to take a bet BOOTS will avoid all the advice given here telling him to get a digital card, and will still do what he normally does?

Re: Travel Currency
Probably tool ate for for this but Halifax Clarity card is good, use it direct or in ATM as long as you pay off each month, and try and pay off cash withdrawals asap, even before statement.

Have a Clarity card and a Revolut card in case ene get lost or does not work.

For cash (very archaic) https://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/?_ga=2.244374661.1493598341.1632692891-332633499.1628528473

Re: Travel Currency
Get the metal revolut and you get your family travel Insurance , airport lounges, cards for up to 5 kids, crypto and share dealing and big limits for multiple currency limits

It costs but what you get back it pays for itself

Get what you need to get a taxi when you arrive then ask your hotel or taxi driver for a money changer, Do not change money in an airport unless you have to

Re: Travel Currency
Try to not change too much and use your cc if you have a decent one that does not charge fees and you can pretty much get away without much cash. Depending on where you’re going you may or may not get a better rate changing pounds or dollars cash at your destination.

Re: Travel Currency
Rather than worry about the marginal rate on currency (I uses John Lewis, which have marginally better rates, than the rest of the high street), given the switch away from cash around the world, make sure you have a credit/debit card, that doesn't charge, foreign currency transaction fees when used abroad.

These are getting on for 3% on most credit cards. This is for all transactions, not just drawing out cash.

Re: Travel Currency
Do it any way other than what Trundle said and you'll be over-paying and over-complicating it.

Re: Travel Currency
I use WeSwap - front load the card in sterling, pick the day & the currency to initiate the exchange and you have on you a credit card that works in the local currency (don't accept the sterling price if offered - you'll get hit for a double exchange at very poor rates).

Re: Travel Currency
Shop around, Boots, you might save 57p on every ton you change up. Fucks sake.

Re: Travel Currency
Revolut and don’t worry about foreign exchange ever again

Kaiser Zoso 11:42 Sun Sep 26
Re: Travel Currency
Order it in advance for collection at the airport. The rate is far better than that offered on the day.

But unless you're spending ten grand or more Boots, I doubt it's going to make much of a difference, you tight cunt.
